At Turner Law Group, we believe that the strength of our firm is built on the people behind it. We are proud to share two significant professional milestones achieved by our partner, Margie Komes, who has been dedicated to her clients and committed to the broader legal community.
Appointed Chair of the ISBA Women and the Law Section Committee
Margie has been appointed chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Women and the Law Section Committee, which is a meaningful leadership role within one of Illinois' most respected professional legal organizations. At the firm, she focuses her practice on personal injury and workers' compensation matters on behalf of injured clients. Now, through her new role with the ISBA, she will extend that representation beyond the courtroom.
In this position, Margie will lead the committee's efforts to address legal issues that directly affect women, promote meaningful action on women's issues within the law, and actively encourage women's participation and advancement throughout the legal profession. It is a role that demands both passion and purpose, and Margie brings both in full measure.
The Illinois State Bar Association represents tens of thousands of attorneys across the state and plays a significant role in shaping legal policy, professional development, and access to justice in Illinois. Being selected to chair one of its section committees is a distinction that reflects the trust and respect Margie has earned among her peers.
Sworn Into the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States
In addition to her ISBA appointment, Margie was recently sworn into the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, which is the nation's highest court. This is a significant professional honor that relatively few attorneys ever achieve. Admission to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar is a formal recognition of an attorney's standing and professional qualifications, and it opens the door to practice before the highest court in the land.
For Margie and for Turner Law Group, this milestone is a representation of the legal talent our clients are represented by every day.
